Conditional Retail Plant Warranty Plant Warranty All plants are guaranteed to be true to name, in good condition at the time of sale, and capable of growing, provided they are installed in an appropriate location and receive proper planting, fertilization, watering, and ongoing maintenance. Plants are living, perishable products, and their survival depends on the planting site, installation, and care they receive.
If a plant fails to survive within one (1) year of the date of purchase, Sunstar Nurseries will provide a one-time store credit equal to 50% of the original purchase price toward the purchase of new plant material. Delivery and installation charges are excluded from the warranty.
Cedars are warranted for 90 days from the date of purchase, with all claims required no later than September 30 of the year of purchase.
No cash refunds will be issued for plant material.

- Plants must have been properly planted and maintained according to Sunstar Nurseries' planting and care instructions.
- The dead plant must be returned. Please notify us in advance before returning large trees, as a site inspection or plant inspection may be required.
Items Not Covered by WarrantyThe warranty does not apply to:
- Annuals
- Herbaceous perennials
- Patio plants or plants left in above-ground containers
- Bare-root stock, seedlings, or plug-grown cuttings
- Sale or discounted plants
- Plants damaged by improper handling, wind, snow load, or late spring frost
- Poor or inadequate drainage.
- Weed barriers, plastic, gravel, shale, bark mulch, or any other ground covering placed within 1 metre (3 ft) of the base of the plant.
- Plants located within 2 metres (6 ft) of a drainage swale or areas affected by water discharge, including sump pump outlets or downspouts.
- Plants installed more than 5 cm (2 in.) below finished grade.
- Insufficient topsoil surrounding the root system.
- Requested within 2 days of the purchase date.
- Accompanied by the original Bill of Sale.
- The plant has not been planted or removed from its container.
- The plant remains in the same condition as when it was sold.
- The plant is suitable for resale, as determined by Sunstar Nurseries staff.
